Notes: 1. Richard Buchanan (1837 - 1916), Ballybolother (top of Headstone) married Mary Jack (1851 -1884). They were married on 17 Jan 1871 in Trenta Presbyterian Church. Mary died young (33 yrs) with T.B. They both died in Ballybolother. 2. Richard and Mary (nee Jack) Buchanan had 6 boys and 1 girl. All born at Ballybalother: - Robert Stewart (Bob) (1871-1913) m Annie Savage, Ballymoney. 4 children. Mary Jack (Mollie), Jane Russell (Jane), James Stewart and William Robert Wilson. - William Edward Flynn (Willie) (1874-1951) m Annie Stevenson, Ballyare. 6 children - William, David, Roy, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Violet. - Leslie Hastings (Leslie) (1876 -1948) (see Headstone) m Margaret Gallagher, Kilmacrenan. 7 children. Vincent, Francis Herbert (Herbie), Annie Mary (Mary), Dorothy (Dolly), James Richard (Jim), David Allen (David) and Robert Hastings Jack. Leslie sold Ballybolother and bought Socker. - Samson Jack (Samson) (1878) . - David Russell (David) (b 25 Oct 1879) Both David and Samson died young. They were in a photograph in uniform. - James Gregg (1882-1929) m Mary Mullholland, Ballymoney.They had 1 son, James Mullholland. James Gregg was a bank manager in Dublin and died at his residence there. - Annie Mary Jack (1882 - 1915) Died young (33years) 3. Mary Jack was a daughter of the Rev Samson Jack m Margaret Gregg from Ednaharnon. It is thought Rev Samson Jack was the first minister in Trenta Presbyterian Church and that he preached in the schoolhouse in Trenta until the church was built. Mr Jack left his farmhouse, a large garden and an extensive lawn to Trenta Church for a Manse. 4. Rev Samson Jack and Margaret Gregg had 3 children: - Annie marr 1867 to Dr. William Edward Flynn. He died 1868 and is buried at Trenta. Later Mrs Flynn married Leslie McCandless, Corkey. They had 3 children - Bob, Annie and Renee - see 1901 census Corkey - Robert Hastings was a medical student.
