On Monday, the 3rd inst., an inquest was held at Carrowan, Burt, on the body of JOHN McCONEMY, who was in the employment of MR D. PORTER. On Saturday last he had left MR PORTER’S, to make his way home, and was attacked with vomiting of blood, to which he was prone. He was later found dead on the road, a short distance from home

On Tuesday, an inquest was held before GEORGE H. MITCHELL, ESQ., on the body of JOSIAS LINDSAY, who was for some years a landstewart in the employment of SAMUEL LEATHEM ESQ., of Burt. It is supposed that the deceased had gone at the usual hour on Monday morning to draw water for the mill, and, not returning, another man had went to the dam, whereupon he found the body of the deceased lying in the water. The jury found, on the evidence of Dr. Hamilton, who had been attending the deceased for some time past, for a flow of blood to the head, that his death was caused by apoplexy
