This website is a compilation of 18th to early 20th century resources, provided to assist amateur genealogists with their family history research in Donegal It is the work of myself and other researchers. If you would like to contribute any records to this website, it would be very much appreciated!
There are now more than 2,825 pages pages of transcriptions online, with more to come!
This website is totally FREE to access and is intended to be used by amateur genealogists researching their Donegal roots. If you would like to copy sections of any records for your family history, please advise the submitter of the record/s and request permission to do so.
Copying of anything contained within this website for commercial purposes is not permitted The copying & selling of any of these records for your own profit is expressly forbidden (I do know who you are!)
Please note that I cannot undertake research for anyone, even if I'd like to! Aside from this research being much more enjoyable & satisfying if you do it yourself, the more time I spend on queries, the less time I have to transcribe and add records to this website Everything you need is in the links below & contained within this website, especially in the How To section under General

Announcements
2015 was a quiet year for me - after more than 14 years of maintaining this website, I needed a bit of a break :-)
2016 looks like it is going to be a big year - I am working on new transcripts, including the Taughboyne Parish Church Vestry Books from 1796,
Deaths in Scotland of people born in Donegal for 1855, and More Petty Sessions & Dog Licence Registers
I am also working on producing some County Donegal Resource Books, which will be a very big project! To help with that and raise funds to have the books published,
I have a small handcraft shop on Etsy Ireland where I am selling hats I have knitted using Donegal Tweed yarn from Kilcar (there are also hats made with NZ wool, silk & possum fur!)
The shop is called Glendowan and can be found by clicking on the link
I will also be selling some excess Donegal books and a few old Crolly dolls - the page for those will be online soon!
July/August this year will be spent solely in travelling around Donegal, for research & photography, so I will not be attending to many emails during that time
