James Hamilton d. about 1815 aged 90/96 years. Of Fintragh, Killybegs, Co. Donegal. Her married Lucy Morison, and by her had issue:

 

I.     Richard Hamilton, of whom presently.

II.    Thomas Hamilton. Went to Australia, and not heard of again.

III.    James Hamilton, married….

IV.   ……Hamilton, married in 1784 at Fintragh to William Hamilton of Dublin, Attorney-at-law and by him had issue:

1.      James Hamilton

2.      William Hamilton

3.      Anne Hamilton, married Dr Anderson

4.      ….. Hamilton, married a Mr Johnson

V.    Betty Hamilton

 

Richard Hamilton, the eldest son, married…. and had issue:

(i)            Julia Hamilton, married Mr Morris

(ii)          Eliza Hamilton, married a mr Prior

(iii)         Kate Hamilton, married Micah Hamilton of ….

(iv)        Hannah Hamilton

(v)          Jane Hamilton, married Mr Hope of….., by whom she had issue two boys, she went with them to Nelson, New Zealand

(vi)        James Hamilton of whom presently

 

James Hamilton, the only son, b. 1802, d 1 Sept 1849, at Fintragh. Will dated 24 August 1849. Was J.P and L L of Co. Donegal. He married 1822, Anna, eldest dau. of William Hutchinson of Barby Hall, Dalton Hall and Newsham Hall, XX Richmond Yorks, and by her [who

was born 14th February 1803 and d. 29 Oct 1881 at Fintragh. Bur in St Colombus Churchyard, Killybegs, Co. Donegal] had issue:

 

         I.     Hannah Hamilton, b. 3 Nov 1824, d. 16 March 1916 at Southram, she married James Douglas XXXX, Paymaster-in-chief, RN [b 26 Feb 1820, m 7 March 1850, d 17 Aug 1884] and had issue

         II.    Richard Hamilton, b 3 Apr 1826 in Dublin, d. in Boston, USA. He married 1st Alicia, dau of William Barrett of Carrickuagone, W Killybegs, Co. Donegal, Crown Solicitor by his wife Mary Sophia De La Tour D’Auverque Falvil, second dau. of Stephen Falvil, Commander

                RN [Wm Barrett was second son of the Rev John Barrett, Rector of Innisheel, Co. Donegal] and had issue 2 daugs. He married, secondly, in Durbin, Natal, Marguarite Mason and had issue.

         III.    Eliza Jane Hamilton, married George Chautie Watson Tappin and had issue.

         IV.   Isabella Hamilton, married Richard Gorxxxx (Goring) and had issue.

         V.    Louisa Hamilton, married John Betie Cator, Capt RN

         VI.   Caroline Maria Hamilton, d. young

         VII.  James Douglas Hamilton, married Anne Robertson and had issue.

         VIII. Georgina Frances Hamilton, married Edward Squire, and had issue.

         IX.   Anne Wilhelmina Hamilton, married John Benjamin Twigg of Coollstown, Co. Tyrone and had issue.

         X.    Matilda Hamilton, married Walter Reynolds younger son of Andrew Fitzgerald Reynolds of Dublin and Melton, East Yorks, and had issue:

 

1.      Henry Fitzgerald Reynolds, married Gladys Emma Williams and had issue: Kathleen Gladys Fitzgerald Reynolds

2.      Mary Geraldine Reynolds married Dr Edward Palman Harding of Co Wittlow. No issue.

3.      Kathleen Rose Reynolds, d. young

4.      Evelyn Reynolds

5.      Mabel Reynolds

6.      Walter Hamilton Reynolds married Doreen Marshall & has issue.
