The  abbreviation  ms means maiden surname and I apologise
   beforehand for what the Registrar has written or what I think he has written
   which is surely what he thinks he has heard.....maybe [read on, its most
   interesting to imagine what the poor Registrar thought he should write].
   Any placename or surname with 'single quote marks' is PRECISELY what's
   written.  If I must guess, there will be a ?  Handwriting and readability
   are pretty good.  Corrected placenames gladly entertained.  Note the variety
