Downings Pier

Submitted by Eleanor

It shows Ghaniamore mountain and to the right, Crock-a-Doon hillock, which leads over to Magherabeg (at the top of the rise)

Larganreagh townland starts near the beach and leads up to Magherabeg,  before reaching the mountain of Ghaniamore

This area is were her Grandmother Catherine was born, only a field away from the Old Mevagh Graveyard at Clontallagh

The stone anchor is a memorial for those who died in Sheephaven Bay,

so their names will be remembered

Eleanor is researching McElhinney from lower Mevagh, around Downings

If you can help Eleanor with her research, please email her
