The Will of Andrew Larkey

Andrew Larkey Will – 237-5-6 estate value, pg. 181-182

 

In the name of God Amen, I Andrew Larkey of Galdonagh, in the Parish of Raymoghey, County of Donegal, Farmer, being in delicate state of health, yet perfect in my mind memory and understanding, but aware of the uncertainty of life think it right and proper to settle my personal property in the following manner.

 

First I bequeath my Soul to God who gave it, and my body to be buried in a ?coming And Christian manner.

 

And next I bequeath my farm as it now is or may be at my demise to my dear and beloved wife, Sarah Larkey together with all the chattels thereon and all things whatsoever on and about the farm as it may be when I am removed by death.

 

I also leave to my sister Catherine Larkey otherwise Malseed now residing in Londonderry the sum of two shillings and sixpence, She previously having received from, my father her fortune which he considered when paid was her full share from him. 

 

And I nominate constitute and appoint the two following persons as my lawful Executors, seiz?: Joseph Chambers of Brockagh and John Patterson of Galdonagh to see the substance of the above carried out according to my desire and I hereunto subscribe my name on the 10th day of January 1865, in presence of:

No. ??, In Her Majesty’s Court of Probate. The District Registry at Londonderry.  In the goods of Andrew Larkey deceased.  I Samuel Crowe of Mundooey in the County of Donegal, farmer, make oath that I am one of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Andrew Larkey late of Galdonagh in the County of Donegal, farmer, deceased, the said will being now hereunto annexed? bearing date the tenth day of January, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Five, and that the said Testator executed the said will on the day of the date thereof, by signing his name at the foot or end or thereof, as the as the same appears in the presence of me and of James Cunningham and James Porterfield the other subscribed witnesses thereto all of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said will in the presence of the said Testator and of each other. Samuel Crowe, Sworn at Raphoe in the County of Donegal this 16th day of October 1865, by the said Samuel Crowe before me a Commissioner or Master Extraordinary for taking affidavits for the Court of Chancery of Ireland and I know the deponent.
