William Patton b. c. 1837 - 1840, Roughan to Dennis Patton & Margaret Harkin m Hannah Gallagher b. 1843, Kirkneedy, dau of Murdy Gallagher and Madge McDade

Their dau Mary Ann Patton was b. 1866 in Roughan

The family emigrated to Australia in 1867.

William's mother emigrated as well, and died at Ballarat in 1872. William had a brother, Cornelius, who was already in Australia in the 1850s. William may also have been in Australia prior to his marriage in Glenswilly in 1865
