MR. WILLIAM BARNES, farmer, of this neighbourhood [Londonderry], went out to bathe at Linsfort, Buncrana, on Saturday evening. Having unfortunately ventured too far into the water, and not being an expert swimmer, the strength of the current forced him off his feet, and he sank to rise no more. A relation of his, who was bathing at the same time, made every effort to save him, but in vain. He was about 30 years of age, was a most respectable character, and has left a wife, but happily no children to lament his loss
