In the matter of "The Deeds Registration Act 1868"

I William Smith of Ludstone, Kaikoura in the provincial District of Marlborough and Colony of New Zealand, Sheepfarmer, so solemnly and sincerely declare:-

1.    That I was personally acquainted with Frances or Fanny O'Donnell, late of Kaikoura in the provincial District of Marlborough, aforesaid widow of John O'Donnell, late of Kaikoura, aforesaid Farmer, deceased.

2.    That the said Frances or Fanny O'Donnell was lawfully married to one Stephen Sharp of Kaikoura aforesaid farmer, on or about the third day of May 1883 and the Exhibit or paper writing marked 'A' hereto annexed is a certified copy of the entry in the Register Book of Marriages in the District of Kaikoura of such marriage.

3.    That the said Frances or Fanny O'Donnell (then Sharp) died at Kaikoura aforesaid on about the thirtieth day of May 1884 and the exhibit or paper writing marked 'B' hereto annexed is a certified copy of the death of the said Frances or Fanny Sharp.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true under and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand entitled "The Justices of the Peace Act 1882".
