..............Alexander Porter and James Deveny being deficient in their account for the year 1794 and having alleged in their defence that the deficiency arose from a need of being involved in some suit in ?, the duty of the Parish and now we Parishoners of Taughboyne in full vestry after? do hereby pledge ourselves to support the former Parish Wardens Alexander Porter and James Deveny as also all other Church Wardens may be only elected, in all legal steps they may be compelled to take against person or persons who either have or may refuse to pay such cess or cut, as the Parish duly called may think fit to lay on. Given under our hands, this 19th of April 1796 and we do hereby further adjourn this vestry till the second tuesday in June on which day, the Church Wardens hitherto deficient ? pledged themselves to a full discharge of all account arrears.

3 April 1804
Minutes:
At a Vestry held in this Church by Public Notice this 3rd day of April 1804, it appears that Mr John Colhoun - one of the parishoners employed to superintend the building of a new Parish stable, had executed that commission, and paid to the Builder the sum of £35, and his account is hereby allowed. And, that the Churchwardens, having delivered in their accounts of the sums collected by virtue of the last Easter Vestry, and a subsequent Vestry held on the 24th day of October, the same are acknowledged to be right and are hereby allowed : but it appearing to the Vestry that by a clerical error the whole sums assessed were not delivered to the aplotters, and that there was a deficiency in the amount of £1:19:1. The said sum of £1:19:1 shall be added to the present assessment.
It appears also that Mr Colhoun and Mr Monteith appointed Treasurers to collect the asessments paid on the 16th day of October last for raising substitutes for the Army of Reserve and granting certificates to others not liable to pay parish cesses, had delivered the money they had collected to Mr Pemberton, and Mr Pemberton having delivered his account to the said Vestry, all the said accounts are allowed.
And that ten guineas be applotted towards rebuilding the wall round the Graveyard at St Johnston, effectually with lime and stone, and that two guineas now in hand for the said purpose by the Act of a former Vestry, be appropriated to the same : and that Mr George McCartney, Mr Thomas Magill and Mr George Rankin be requested to contracted for, and superintend, the execution of the said work.
And that Mr John Marshall and Mr Alexander Porter...................
And that the sum of £9,2,0 be aplotted for the clerks salary, and two guineas doe the Sexton's salary, washing the linen included, and two guineas for the Churchwarden's salary, and half a guinea for the aplotters salary, and £1.16.8 for the Elements and one guinea for the Sexton's salary at St Johnston, and one guinea to Jeremiah McEntire for additional work to the stable, which was not in the estimate.
And the Churchwardens are enjoined to keep the roads leading to the Graveyards of Taughboyne near St Johnston free from dunghills and other nuisances.
And that £6:15:10½ be aplotted to reimburse Mr Pemberton for money laid out in procuring substitutes beyond what he received. And that half a guinea be aplotted for improving and levelling the road to the stable door.
And that Mr David Kerr and Mr John Woods be appointed Churchwardens : And that Mr David Rankin, Oliver White, and James McAdoo junr be continued Aplotters : and Mr John Gilfillan and Mr Samuel Marshall be appointed Guardians.
And that one guinea be aplotted to pay Jeremiah McEntire for mending slating.

9 September 1805
Minutes:
At a vestry held in the Church of Taughboyne pursuant to Public Notice this 9th day of September A.D. 1805, it is resolved that the sum of sixteen Guineas be aplotted upon the parish to pay a Recruiting Sergeant or any other persons who will procure for the Parish, and bring receipts to the Ministor or Churchwardens, 6 men to serve his Majesty under the Requisition of the late General Defence Bill, and two men to fill up deficiencies by death or otherwise in the Army of Reserve - being at the rate of two Guineas for each recruit, exclusive of the Government allowance. The said Recruits under the General defence Bill to be furnished first and as expeditiously as possible. And the Minister and Churchwardens are requested to find out and appoint one or more proper persons to procure the said Recruits.

Minutes:
At a Vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne pursuant to publick notice on the 6th day of Feby 1806it is unamonousely agreed that the sum of four Guineas per man be laid on the Parish to have eleven men for the Army of Reserve and that the same be apploted immediately and that the sum of one shilling per pound be all? to the Collector of said money and the apploters fees are formerly making in all the sum of £54.1.0 and that the former vestry held on the 9th of Spetember 1805 be resinded and that Mr Oliver White be appointed Treasurer to receive this money from the Collector.
Mr Oliver White has settled this account to the satisfaction of the Parish

Minutes:
At a vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne pursuant to Public Notice on the 28th day of July 1806, the former resolutions were unanamously agreed to first that Parish shall borrow the sum of eight Guineas to fee lawyers to prevent if possible the fine for unlisenced stills and the Parishoners have here assembled do agree to lay on the sum of eight Guineas on the Parish to reimburse whoever lends said eight Guineas and also one Guinea for to pay witnesses and to pay the leagal Intericot? for said eight Guineas and we apoint Mr John McAdoo of Ardagh our Agent in the case and also we agree that any Town where a private still and distillery is found and suffered to work that said Town Land shall in future pay all fines whatsoever that shall or may be incurred by the said private still or distillery being found therein and if found in a mearing between two or more Town Lands, that each Town adjoining shall pay equally share and share of said fines alike and the following persons shall be appointed to discover on and tell the several Townlands where any sizure shall or may in future be made, viz for the Churchland, Mr Alexander Porter and Mr John McAoo to take care of each Townland within their district and the the one thousand acres of St Johnston, Mr James Smyly Snr and Mr John McClintock to take care of that district and for the one thousand acres of Mongavlin, Mr Andrew Hamilton and Mr Thomas Patton to take charge of that district and Mr William Rodgers and Mr Andrew Lowry of Drumcrow to take charge of that district of Lettergull and John McConnell and Robert Porter for the Glebe of Carnshannagh and Cloghfin. Witnessed our several hands this 20th day of July 1806

Minutes
At a vestry held at the parish Church of Taughboyne pursuant to Public Notice on the 3rd day of February 1807 the following resolutions were inanimously agreed to viz that the sum of £13.13.0 be laid on the Parish to pay to Lawer (Lawyer) to prevent if possible any fine that may be brought against the parish by the neglect of the Revenue officers not residing ? in the walk by which several people have had an opportunity of agrieving the Parish by fine for unlicenced stills and it is also agreed by this meeting that our Church warden and 4 ?iple inhabitants be appointed to give notice to the surveyor General in Charge Customhouse Derry and the Collector of the District in behalf of our Parish respecting the non residence of such revenue officers, the names of those inhabitants to act with the Church wardens is Alexander Porter Listicall, Henry Wark, Tyrody, James McAdoo Dernacally and James McCrab St Johnston and we appoint Mr James McAdoo Junr and Mr Alexander Porter to be our Law Agents to manage this business for which each of them is to be paid the sum of one Guinea for their trouble over and above all other expences for summoning witnesses and they are to have full power to act as the see cause in behalf of the Parish. And we appoint Mr Oliver White to be our Treasurer and we also lay on 2 Guineas to repair the roof of the Church and windows.

Minutes:
At a Vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne pursuant to Publick Notice on the 17 day of December 1807 and first we received a former vestry held on the 5th day of November last and then by direction of the D Governers we lay on the sum of 6 Guineas per man for 14 men being our quota which amount to 84 Guineas, this to be applotted on the Landholders the same as any other cess by the usual apploters fee over and above this to be apploted along with the said 84 Guineas and the sum of one shilling per pound for collectors fees and that James Lowrey of Binion, Churchwarden and Hamilton Patterson of Churchtown are to be Collectors and the Constables are forthwith to go out immediately and take in the name of all males from 18 to 45 that they are to be sworn to the justness of their return and to paste up the names on the Church doors 7 days before hearing appeals that they are to call on the landholders, who is to make a just return of all tenant cotters, servants, tradesmen and sons liable to serve under the penalty of paying one Guinea over and above the fine by act of Parliament incurred by such omission or neglect and in order to redress every grievance of the people we lay on the sum of 9 - 4 on all who is not Landholder that is liable to serve, to be paid in to the Collecters appointed by this meeting and we all agree that every Landholder who is not liable to serve that his paying the land tax ecemptty ........ .(unreadable) that each constable is to keep an accurate list of the number of days that they are out which they are to swear to and then to be signed by the Churchwarden then by some of the D Govern and is to receive their fees from the collecter Derry as directed by the act and it is also agreed that the Revd Samuel Rankin be appointed treasurer to receive the Parish money from the collectors and that the recruiting Sergeant shall be paid the sum of eleven Guineas for each recruit and that the give security for the amount of what ever they receive to return the men or pay the fines and that 2 men be appointed in each town? land to make out a list of all in the in the several towns in his direction or instruction from 18 to 45 years of age and that Hamilton Patterson is appointed to make out the lists and give them to the Constables who are to distribute them as directed and that Alexander Porter and James McAdoo be appointed to enlist the men.

At a Vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne on the 28th day of April 1808 prusuant to Publick Notice for recinding an agreement made at a vestry in this Church on 19th day of April inst for comparing and adjusting the rent rolls of the parish and whereas we are of opinion that by an act of vestry we cannot alter the applotnebts or the parish charges in consequence of them, we therefore resolve that the parishoners shall pay all parish charges at the usual rates as heretofore done.

Minutes:
At a vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne on the 20th day of June pursuant to publick notice for the purpose of laying on money to defray the expence of 2 foundling children and other necessary uses for preparing the Church ? and first we the Ministers and Parishoners at this Vestry assembled do agree to lay on the sum of £5.18.11 for conveying away 2 foundling children to Dublin and for repair of the Church seats and chancel £2.5.6 and ? we have for some time past been agreeved by paying for the public roads and not geting our just dividend of them, now we unanmously agree to lay on our selves the sum of one hundred pounds sterg to obtain if possible an act of parliament to divide the barony and if more is required, we agree to contribute whatever is out just proportion along with the rent of the parishes in our denomination or half baroney and we appoint William Hamilton Aul Evgr? to be our treasurer to receive our money.

Mintes:
At a Vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne by Publick Notice on the 4th day of April 1809 for the purpose of settling the accounts of the late Church Wardens and choosing Church Wardens for the present year - the late Church Wardens having settled their accounts to the satisfaction of the Vestry they are therefore allowed and for the present year have continued Mr James Lowrey of Binion Church Warden and also appoint William McClintock Esq to be Church Warden for this present year and also appoint Mr Soloman Chambers and Mr Samuel Marshall to be Guardians of Foundlings for the present year and it having appeared to the Vestry that the sum of money necessary for the be laid on for repairing this Church we agree to lay upon the parish the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds towards the said repairs. We also agree that the sum of thirteen pounds be laid upon the Parish for the maintenance of the Parish clerk. We also agree that the sum of two guineas be laid upon the parish for the Sexton and one Guinea for Madge late Sextons. Also one guinea for the Sextons of St Johnstown. We also agree to lay upon the Parish forty shillings for the eliments. We also agree to lay upon the Parish one guinea for the applotters, also four guineas for the Churchwardens, and one guinea for thatching the Sexton's house. We also agree to lay upon the Parish the sum of fourteen pounds five shillings and nine pence for defending the parish...........

At a Vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne on thursday the 15th day of March 1810 convened by Pubblick Notice for the purpose of raising our quota of men for the Donegall Militia the Parishoners being assembled it is unanmously agreed that the sum of £42.12.7½ be laid on the Parish which with the bounty allowed by Government we allow to purchase our quota it being computed to be 7½ men at 5 Guineas each and if any saving can be on the money to be preserved for the use of the Parish and the sum of £2.5.6 for the collection of said money and the sum of £18.18.0 to be laid on the Parish to reimburse the Revd Thomas Pemberton for money laid out by him for 2 men to make up our quota for the Donegall Militia ? and the sum of £5.13.9 for paying lawers to keep the fines on the Parish of Alsaints for unlicenced still from being laid on taughboyne and the sum of £2.5.6 be laid on the Parish as a premium to Samuel McCarter for his activity in preserving the life of an infant and detecting a woman that unhumanly exposed said child to loss.

At a vestry at the Parish Church of Taughboyne by adjournment on the 2nd day of May 1811 for the purpose of settling the accounts of the Church wardens and Parish collectors it having appeared to the vestry that William James has settled his account for the Militia corps for 1810 to the satisfaction of the Parishoners they are therefore allowed.
It also havign appeared to this Vestry that Dr James Lowry of Binnion having in his hands of the Parish money the sum of £17.0.5½. The present Church wardens are therefore requested and authorized to recover the same as speedy as possible. Also Mr Oliver White of Clashagowan late Church warden having settled and paid off his accounts to the satisfaction of the Parishoners, they are all allowed.
Also Hamilton Patterson having in his hands at a late vestry 24th April 1810 the sum of £25.19.8 and it having appeared that the sum aforementioned has been regularly accounted for, the account is allowed and Mr Hugh Stephenson present Church warden having also settled his accounts is appears that the ballance in his hands are £0.2.10½ (crossed out) paid at same time and it is agreed that Mr John Alexander Atty accounts is allowed on his laying back to the present Church wardens the sum of £5.18.9 for the use of the Parish which clears him of all former accounts with respect to the still fine obtained by him off Sam Fulton.
The Comitee appointed have given in their report and commended that in future the Church lands should pay two thirteenths of every cess and that the applotments be made out accordingly, as witness our several hands this 2nd day of May 1811

At a vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne this 2nd day of May 1816 by adjournment for settling the accounts of the late Churchwarden Mr John Lowry and he having finally settled his account and paid off the ballance in his hands to the satisfaction of the Parishoners they are therefore allowed and as the late Church wardens have fulfilled their engagement to the Parish in processing with effect Mr Willaim Heaslett the vestry assembled do hereby give then their thanks for the zeal they have shown in behalf of the parish.
And now that in conformity with the vote and promises of the last Easter vestry wherein the Parish engaged to pay the reasonable expenditure of the prosecution the Parishoners now assembled do consider that sum of £8-6-7 is a reasonable charge according to the amount hereunto annexed and they do therefore vote that the same may be applotted and leveyed with the sum laid on at Easter vestry last.

Minutes
At a vestry held at the Church of Taughboyne Pursuant to Publick Notice on the 2nd day of December 1816 for the purpose of considering the case of bastard children deserted within the Parish when they are above the age of admission into the foundling Hospital it was unanimously resolved that such infants cannot be considered as intitled to any permanent support from the Parish and that in all such cases the Guardians of the Poor are instructed and directed to use their utmost effort to have the party apprehended and brought to justice who shall be guilty of such inhumane practices and that the Parish will reimburse the Guardians for any extraordinary expence he may be put to in discovering taking and prosecuting such offender and also that the Parish will reimburse him for any temporary relief afforded to such infants as the exigency of their several cases may require.

At a vestry held at the Church of Taughboyne Pursuant to Publick Notice on the 2nd day of December 1816 for the purpose of settling the accounts of the late Church wardens and for choosing new Churchwardens to serve for the present year and for laying on the necessary expense contingencies and first we proceed as follows - the late Church wardens William Latta and Mises McShane having settled their accounts and cleared off all accounts to the satisfaction of the Parish they are therefore allowed.
And now we proceed to lay on for Clerks sallary £13-13-0
for the Sexton at Taughboyne 3-8-3
for the Sextons at St Johnston 2-5-6
for old madge late Sextoness 1-2-9
for the Applotters sallary 2-5-6
for the Church wardens sallary 4-11-0

...........pursuant to Publick notice it is hereby resolved that in consequence of the Great Mortality that prevails and the extreme distrust of the lower classes of the Parishoners that the sum of fifteen pounds ster be granted and is hereby granted to be assessed on the Parish for the purpose of providing coffins for those who die and whose friends are unable to pay the expenses of their funeral.
That the Minister and Church wardens and Guardians Mr Hugh Stephenson and Mr James Pinkerton be and they are hereby appointed a comitee to manage this fund to the best advantage but that in no cases money be given to the party applying but a coffin only provided.

At a vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne on the 24th day of March 1818 pursuant for publick notice for the purpose of settling the accounts of the late Church wardens and choosing new Church wardens to serve for the present year and for laying on the necessary expenses for the present year and first we proceed as follows - it having appeared to the Parishoners now assembled that Mr Henry Work, late Church warden, having paid as follows viz

Josias Galbraith and as it has been settled at a former vestry that he owed the Parish the sum of £12.13.9 which, after deducting his fees as Churchwarden, he now stands indebted to the Parish the sum of £10.8.3, and Mr Josias Galbraith not having this day appeared to settle the above account, it is ordered and directed that the present Churchwarden do see him for the same unless he pays the amount into the hands of Hamilton Patterson, on or before the first day of May next, as directed by a former vestry. And it is also resolved at this vestry that the sum of £20 be laid on this parish for the purpose of providing coffins for the poor and destitute who are not able to get them otherwise.
And Mr Robert Wilson of St Johnston having delivered in his estimate for making the above mentioned coffins, the same is approved of and the parish therefore contracts with him to furnish the coffins.
And the former committee together with the present Churchwardens are hereby appointed the Committee for giving orders to Mr Wilson for furnishing them as occasion may require and secondly, we lay on the parish the sum of £5.13.9 for painting the walls of the parish stable and repairing the roof of the schoolhouse and the whole to be ridgid with composition tyle of the best sort and all to be effectivally done to the satisfaction of Mr Stephenson and Mr John Marshall. These two sums paid on this day to be applotted with the sum paid on at Easter vestry and
collected together.

At a vestry held at the parish church of Taughboyne pursuant to public notice for the purpose of receiving the account of money expended by the Churchwardens and Guardians for fair and ? ? and it having appeared to this vestry that the sum of £3.11.5½ has been expended by William Elliot for sundry purposes, the parishioners assembled do lay on the same to be applotted and levied with the former sums laid on at two preceeding vestrys. And Mr Robert Finley and Mr Chambers Allison having expended the sum of £5.6.9, it is ordered by this vestry to be laid on, applotted and levied with the above. And also for Mr Marshall, the sum of sixteen shillings for two coffins provided by him. And the sum of six shillings paid by Mr Baird for a coffin, to be applotted with the above sums. The whole amount being £74.16.6
This assemblage seeing the great necessity that some times are for a spade or shovel at this graveyard do lay on the sum of six shillings and six pence to be laid on and levied with the former sum likewise for St Johnston Graveyard, the sum of six and six pence to be levied as the above.
