Notes: James, son of James Mullan and Mary Gallagher, Carrickatimpan, married Isabella Curren, dau of Farrigle Curren and Sarah Huston of Kirkneedy, 27 Mar 1893 at Glenswilly. Witnesses Henry Curran and Mary Mullan - see certificate James's siblings: - Hugh, married Isabella's sister, Mary - see Drumsallagh census - Susan, married William McMonagle, son of Bernard McMonagle and Ann Patton, of Derora, at Saint Columbas, Termon and Gartan, 10 Feb 1885. Witnesses, James Mullan, Carrickatimpan and Catherine McMonagle, Derora. See 1901 census Derrora, Conwal - Daniel, living with Susan in Derora in 1901. In 1920 Daniel applied for the pension and a search of the 1851 census was conducted. The report showed that parents James Mullan and Mary Gallagher married in 1837 and that the only child named Daniel found, had died in 1848 aged 4 months - this Daniel must have been a second son to be given that name. See Daniel's Census Search Form - Edward (nothing known) James died tragically on 13 Jun 1921 at the same spot his brother Hugh had been killed 27 years earlier, when he (James) was killed by a bull (?) - Death certificate states his death occurred on the Churchill to Doochary road nead Churchill, from cerebral compression due to fracture of the base of the skull, accidentally inflicted. Military Court of Inquiry held at Glendowan on 16 Jun 1921. Age at death recorded as 65 years old.
